PROCESS

Building can be a bit intimidating. We’re ready to guide you through the process from inception to completion.

Together, we’ll start by exploring the potential for your site or existing building and clarify a brief.  We’ll develop a concept design with you to suit your vision and budget. After progressing the concept with some further detail, you can opt for us to arrange an outline cost estimate for your project, which helps to keep your budget under control.  We also check if your project requires Resource Consent.  If required we will advise you on the required steps and specialist input needed.

The next step is for us to prepare and lodge a Building Consent, which we submit to the local council for approval. During this stage, if not earlier,  we advise you which specialist consultants are required for your project.  We assist you with their selection and co-ordinate them as Design Lead.

Following Building Consent, we offer construction observation services, by which we can regularly inspect building progress on site for greater certainty that the desired design outcome and quality will be achieved.  During this stage we can assist with the selection of finishes and colours, check manufacturers shop drawings and answer Builders questions.

From the beginning of the process we discuss options for procuring a builder that best suits your project.

Want to hear more? Get in touch.  Our initial meeting is a free no-obligation meeting to discuss your project and to get to know each other a little better.

FEES

As every project is unique in its size, type and complexity we don't have a 'standard' Architectural project fee.  For most projects we charge fixed fees or hourly rate, or a combination of both, dependent on whether the scope of work can be accurately defined at the start of the project or project stage.  New build projects with a clear brief will generally be fixed fee, while alterations to existing buildings will often be charged at hourly rate.  After our initial meeting we will provide you with a written fee estimate, based on the time we estimate it will take us to complete your project to the high standard we pride ourselves upon.

We aim to offer competitive pricing, while offering a complete design service that is very high in its quality.
