TE KAUWHATA

OAKRIDGE RISE

Residential

Separate, offset gabled forms are loosely connected in this spacious country home to create a delightful ambiguity of form. The design focuses on the interplay between scales; nooks, habitable areas of the facade, and subtle demarcations create many intimate moments alongside or amongst the more expansive and communal spaces. This is manifest in the sculpting of the form, which articulates a contrast between solid and void, lightness and heaviness. The outdoors is invited indoors with a courtyard rain garden and operable sections of the facade, and extensive outdoor living spaces are provided for all times of day and all kinds of weather.
