This extension is a spacious, north-facing ‘outdoor room’. The design seamlessly flows-on from the existing house, with low pitched roof so as to not obstruct the upper-level views. The design provides excellent access to natural light for all corners of the room, and numerous openings in the envelope make the space feel genuinely ‘outdoors’, affording a sheltered experience of the summer and springtime weather. Closing up all the windows and large bi-fold doors to the elements makes for a pleasant, light-filled space to inhabit during winter while sitting before an open fire.
